Android Cookbook powered by Seam 2

Ian Darwin, author of the Java Cookbook, recently announced a new O'Reilly site for the Android development community called the Android Cookbook. It's a how-to site in the format of recipes about how to build great Android applications.

I happen to be a fan of Android, but the reason I mention the site here is because it's powered by Seam 2 and RichFaces 3! In fact, it was spawned from seam-gen, as you can see in the footer. It kind of looks like a seam-gen application, too, though ideally the design will evolved over time (we don't all want our apps looking the same).

      Anyway, go check it out.

Pretty basic stuff for now, but hopefully more advanced topics will get in.

Let's hope Seam doesn't trash too badly if the site becomes popular :)

It would've been nice if the site itself were open source.

          Thanks for the link.

Yeah, it's got some basic add-ons that seam-gen doesn't provide, such as password recovery, that I'm sure would be a nice reference for new Seam developers.

Hi Dan. Thanks for mentioning the site! I definitely plan to make the site itself open source; there are some contract/IP issues though. And, I want to fix a few issues before I let people look at the code :-)

And Nikolay, please sign up and contribute some non-basic stuff - the site is about user contributions!
