Any ideas when 2.2.1.CR3 might be released?

Seriously though, is 2.2.x released only when an EAP maintenance release is due?

That's unfortunate. I was hoping to use JSF2 prior to Seam 3. According to the CR2 JIRA, it looks like there still remain bugs preventing this.

yes, I also hope JSF 2 will be supported in seam 2.x...I have read the seam 3 faces module, I found it is lack of some features in seam 2.x , especially the ui tablig.
