How to display server side logging in the UI

Hi,

I have a long running (>1h) server side process generating a useful logging information. Is it possible to display these log info to the UI. I am using seam2 + Richfaces.

If you are using log4j with seam, you only have to create a new appender with the selected categories.

I am using log4j with seam. Do you mean a new appender to a file, and then view the file to UI?

A file, a db table or a custom appender. Whatever it fits.

Actually, I want the users to see the progress of the app via logging. In the above approach, the user will only see the logs once the execution is finished. This is exactly what I am trying to avoid.

I'm pretty sure that with a jdbc appender and some use of a4j:poll task should be achievable
