1. Re: Seam 2 Future!
lvdberg Oct 4, 2011 8:16 AM (in response to kem)Hi Khalil,
There are numerous threads about the subject of the Seam -2 support, but unfortunately JBoss/Redhat won't reply officially.
I assume that Seam-2 will get a small facelift to support the things which are also needed for Seam-3 buit that will be it.
I would suggest to gradually shift to Seam-3 (That's what I am doing at the moment) and NOT to start up new developments with Seam-2Leo
P.S. I was really active on this forum until a few months ago. RedHat shows again and again that Seam-2 is a dead-end street and therefore I feel this is a waste of time.....

lvdberg Oct 4, 2011 8:40 AM (in response to kem)Hi Khalil,
Seam-3 is very closely related to Java EE6 and solves numerous problems you had to deal with in the past. Seam-2 has glued together different technologies and does a very nice job. The technologies has changed (not to say very much improved), so Seam's objective of glueing toegther stuff is no longer priority number one (look at the improvements in JPA/JSF-2 etc.). It now all about making efficient use of all the technologies.
I'vee done different projects with Spring and looked at other things like Skala (web-frameworks). Sometimes they can be the better choices so I use them, but I really stick to Seam for the time being.
