How to distinguish the message was or not deleted in the journal when server crashed at consumer send ack?

If the client consumer send ack to the broker server, but the broker server is crashed, so how to distinguish the message was or not deleted in the journal? The broker server has a duplicated message facility, how about client consumer, thanks?
