How to persistence the processinfomation into the database in jbpm5.2

I want to storing the peocessdefinition into the database use the drools guvnor with not binary, and how to manage the version of process.

Similar or additional question: Do I have to use the guvnor to persist a process defintion to the database? Or what would be the easiest/simplest way to do so?
