    Measurements

      Hi,

Attached is a screenshot of an RHQ agent instance monitoring the JBoss-7.1.1.Final.

I thought that if I want to check the server.log of that JBoss, I can navigate to logging->Periodic Rotating File Handler->FILE.

If I highlight the FILE, the Measurements remains empty despite I change the time interval to 30 minutes.

      What am I missing ?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking.  What you show in your screenshot is the Resource Configuration for the File resource, which is an instance of Periodic Rotating File Handler.  Anything you change here is applied to the actual underlying Periodic Rotating File Handler.  In other words, you're managing the actual AS7 related resource.

If instead your intent is to monitor the actual AS7 server log and generate RHQ Events based on log entries written to that file, then you would set up a log event source in the Plugin Configuration for the actual AS7 (AS 127.0.0.1:9990) resource.  Do that by selecting the AS7 resource and navigating  to Inventory->Connection Properties.

=> That's corect by enabling the Log Event Sources.

Under 'Summary' tab, when the portlet 'Resources:Measurements' says '... has no recent metrics', what metrics are we expecting to see ?
