1. Re: How to create rule tasks as graphical as possible in Designer?
tsurdilovic Aug 28, 2012 5:22 PM (in response to glimberg)I think its best if you show a specific example and how you are implementing it now vs. how what you would like to see so we have better understanding of your requirements.
Thanks.

2. Re: How to create rule tasks as graphical as possible in Designer?
glimberg Aug 29, 2012 4:29 AM (in response to tsurdilovic)As of today I have only successfully used Drools rules for conditions in relations to gateways, and that is rather easy to do directly in Designer choosing condition language as drools and writing an expression.
But I also need to add more complex rules to my process that I can't implement as gateways in this way - so I would like to use a business rule task - the documentation on how to actually do that seems a little bit sprase to me - and in the best of worlds I would like to "link" this Task to a Drools rule as graphically as possible by for example setting a property on the Task in Designer - this might be possible, but if it is I haven't found that information.
And if I need to write some code I have also had problem finding a good description on how to do this, and do it correctly - and hopefully be able to do it in a generic way and not for every single rule that needs to be in the process.
(I'm not talking så much about creating the actual Drools rule since I do belive that I understand that part and there even are tools for this, if one likes wizards).

3. Re: How to create rule tasks as graphical as possible in Designer?
tsurdilovic Aug 29, 2012 7:54 AM (in response to glimberg)As far as documentation goes, well you could help by contributing to the docs to make it better.
For Business Rule Tasks all you have to do is set the ruleflow group property of your task to tie it to a set of business rules which also grouped under the same ruleflow-group.
Hope this helps.

4. Re: How to create rule tasks as graphical as possible in Designer?
glimberg Aug 30, 2012 4:01 AM (in response to tsurdilovic)Great, thanks, guess I have gotten a little bit confused since a lot of people talk about the ruleflow as deprecated in jBPM5 and replaced by BPMN syntax flows.
Another confusing aspect is that the rule wizards and tools in Guvnor doesn't display or allow editing of the ruleflow group property on a rule.
I guess the rule with the ruleflow group property needs to be in the same package as the process?
And I'd love to contribute to the documentation once that I've understood this topic a little better.....

Of course they allow you to do that - see this post for more info: https://community.jboss.org/thread/204711?tstart=0

glimberg Aug 30, 2012 6:36 AM (in response to tsurdilovic)Ahh, great, thanks, I mainly looked for that attribute in the attributes tab for the rule - not as an option.....
Thank you very much for that link.
