1. Re: Null pointer on Startup (AS7-4159) ... is it safe to drop weld 1.1.8.final into JBoss AS 7.1.0.Final?
ctomc Oct 4, 2012 5:20 AM (in response to peterfry)Hi,
it should work. I have not tested it but given the way how things are done it shouldn't give you any problems.
But note that there ware lots of weld fixes in between 1.1.5 and current 1.1.9 and there might be some issues in your cdi code, if you use some apis in wrong way.
aka weld was fixed to better validate and enforce standard in some places.
i.e. if you use seam solder you should upgrade to latest version, etc...

alesj Oct 4, 2012 5:20 AM (in response to peterfry)1 of 1 people found this helpfulYes, you should be fine.
There is also 1.1.9.Final available, or you can wait for the 1.1.10.Final (in a few days), as mentioned on the other thread. ;-)

nickarls Oct 4, 2012 5:26 AM (in response to alesj)Speaking of Weld, I know snaps are not put in the build but is there some integration branch for Weld 2 somewhere already?

nickarls Oct 4, 2012 5:33 AM (in response to ctomc)Not the IKEA-version, the one with the running AS and Weld 2 subsystem integrated ;-)

peterfry Oct 4, 2012 5:41 AM (in response to alesj)Ales,
I mentioned 1.1.8 because it was the latest available at:
http://seamframework.org/Weld/Downloads
I've found the version you mentioned at
https://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/public/org/jboss/weld/weld-core/1.1.9.Final/
Be aware that Google searches will lead people only to seamframework.org link.
Thanks,
Peter.

alesj Oct 4, 2012 5:46 AM (in response to peterfry)Yeah, my bad, been busy, hence forgot to update things.
Will definitely do this for next 1.1.10.Final release.
