no need to patch server for that.
just add -Dorg.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol.COMPRESSION=on to startup script and it will work.

1. How to make the compression work on css and js too?
2. How to make it work on SOAP?
2. How to make the compression work on different port too?
