Does anyone know how to select a default state for expansion nodes?

I want my tree to be rendered the first time with the root (only the first element) expanded.

I've tried serializing the state with the first node expanded, but it seems that the row key used for its internal state changes (I can't find when). Maybe there is it possibile to assign natural id to the treerowkey?
