1. Re: Forge 1.2.0 Final fails to install jboss-as7 plugin
koen.aers Feb 12, 2013 9:47 AM (in response to askaralus)Hi Andreas,
This seems to work correctly on my machine.
Was the as7 plugin installed on your machine before you switched to Forge-1.2.0.Final? If it was you might want to try uninstalling it first.
If that doesn't help and you don't mind reinstalling all your plugins you can try to ditch your '${USER}/.forge' folder.
Let us know how it goes.
Cheers,
Koen

askaralus Feb 12, 2013 9:49 AM (in response to askaralus)Hi Kohen
I just tried the plugin installation from within a DOS cmd shell and it worked fine.
Seems that the strange behaviour above occures only with cygwin and ist not basically a forge related issue.

Andreas

koen.aers Feb 12, 2013 9:56 AM (in response to askaralus)Hi Andreas,
That's strange. Do you see the same behaviour when installing other plugins?
It should also work in Cygwin however so this is probably a bug. Would you mind reporting it in JIRA (https://issues.jboss.org/browse/FORGE)?
Cheers,

askaralus Feb 12, 2013 10:48 AM (in response to koen.aers)Hi Kohen,
I raised a JIRA for this: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/FORGE-781
I could reproduce this behaviour with different Forge versions (1.1.2, 1.1.3, 1.2.0) and different plugins (jboss-as-7, richfaces).
I think it has to do with the path resolution for searching the modules. The ,C:\cygwin\home\<user>\.forge folder does not exist (the forge installation places it under: C:\Users\<user>\.forge ). This is why DOS shell works fine.
roots: D:\Programme\forge-distribution-1.2.0.Final\modules,C:\cygwin\home\297646\.forge\plugins,D:\workspaces\forge-jbossas-quickstart\
HTH,
Andreas
