1. Re: Tool for watching "log file"
jayshaughnessy Mar 6, 2013 11:15 AM (in response to arun2arunraj)1 of 1 people found this helpfulRHQ does not yet have a good mechanism for performing full logfile storage and analysis. It has only the Event subsystem, which perform logfile crawling and looks for log entries matching user-defined patterns. Matching log entries are then converted to RHQ Events, which can be used for inspection and alerting.

Can you specify Events with example ? I could not get the idea behind it, that is why I am asking again.

There is an Events feature wiki page you might like to read. RHQ does not provide a way to "view log files". If you're looking for an advanced solution for your logs you could consider using Logstash.

arun2arunraj Mar 8, 2013 8:31 AM (in response to arun2arunraj)Hi Thomas,
Logstash, seems to be a Access Log monitoring tool. Is there any Error Log Monitoring tool like highlighting the errors or grouping the errors or something like that ? ? ? .

jayshaughnessy Mar 8, 2013 9:24 AM (in response to arun2arunraj)As I mentioned above, the RHQ Event subsystem is a log monitoring tool. It looks for patterns in log entries and generated RHQ Events when a match is found. The Events can them be inspected via the GUI, accessed via the CLI, etc. And can also triggr RHQ Alerts. See https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/RHQ/Events.
