3. Re: Column width ignored when column width in percent is used in extendeddatatable!!!
mcmurdosound Apr 14, 2013 9:54 AM (in response to vicky82)Due to a lack of proper documentation (or I didn't found it yet) I've looked into the sourcecode of the current stable version:
{code}
/**
* @deprecated TODO Remove this method when width in relative units in columns will be implemented.
* @param column
* @return width
*/
private String getColumnWidth(UIComponent column) {
String width = (String) column.getAttributes().get("width");
if (width == null || width.length() == 0 || width.indexOf("%") != -1) {
width = "100px";
}
return width;
}
{code}
this is from the ExtendedDataTableRenderer.java
So, if you have a "%" (and therefore relative width) value, it'll be replaced with "100px".

mcmurdosound Apr 14, 2013 9:58 AM (in response to mcmurdosound)oh, it's a duplicate ;-)
https://community.jboss.org/thread/164708
and here's a jira-issue:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/RF-11728
latest comment of this issue:
"""The attribute is already in place, but the EDT only respects "px" width for columns, not "%" width. I experimented with enabling "%" widths, but this will require substantial changes to the client-side calculations that calculate the column widths across the multiple html tables used to implement the EDT.
I'm going to bump this to RF 5, where we will look at a re-write of the EDIT client-side code to work with the new standalone javascript widget architecture."""
