tsegismont Apr 29, 2013 5:42 AM (in response to jsaura)1 of 1 people found this helpfulHi Julio,
There is no problem in RHQ with exploded web archives. I think you're hitting a known bug for WAR availability on Tomcat 5.5. It should be fixed by this commit:
https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/rhq/rhq.git/commit/?id=00e5948
Next release version of RHQ (4.7) will include the fix.
If you can't wait for the next release you can still build the Tomcat plugin from source.
Regards,
Thomas

4. Re: tomcat 5.5 wars are unavailable
tsegismont Apr 29, 2013 8:51 AM (in response to jsaura)I'm not sure to understand. You need to:
- clone the git repository (currently we have one big repository for core and modules: https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/rhq/rhq.git/ )
- build the Tomcat plugin module (reading https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/RHQ/Building+RHQ will help)
- Upload the built zip file to your RHQ server (Administration > Agent plugins)
Cheers

6. Re: tomcat 5.5 wars are unavailable
jsaura Apr 29, 2013 11:21 AM (in response to jsaura)ok i have managed to download plugins from git, built em with mvn install, and upload new jopr-tomcat-plugin-4.6.0.jar to rhq server using administration > agent plugins
no changes, my wars still unavailable
what i am doing wrong now

7. Re: tomcat 5.5 wars are unavailable
tsegismont Apr 29, 2013 11:26 AM (in response to jsaura)You might have checked out the wrong branch. If you had built the plugin from master branch, the resulting artifcat would be jopr-tomcat-plugin-4.7.0-SNAPSHOT.jar

8. Re: tomcat 5.5 wars are unavailable
jsaura Apr 29, 2013 11:37 AM (in response to tsegismont)umm
what i have done so far :
git clone https://github.com/rhq-project/rhq-plugins.git
git checkout 4.7-SNAPSHOT
and i have just discovered it gave me an error
error: pathspec '4.7-SNAPSHOT' did not match any file(s) known to git.
seems there is no branch for 4.7 plugins, do i need to compile full from the rhq-server git then?

9. Re: tomcat 5.5 wars are unavailable
tsegismont Apr 29, 2013 11:46 AM (in response to jsaura)Ha. We haven't moved to github yet. It will happen very soon. What you need to clone is RHQ@fedorahosted. See https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/RHQ/Building+RHQ#BuildingRHQ-CheckoutRHQSources
By the way, we are going to release RHQ 4.7 at the end of this week or the beginning of next week.
Cheers
