Accessing the static content in JBOSS AS 7.1.1 after assigning the root context to other web application

Hello,

I am having a suituation where i should access my web application with the root context.

So i changed the enable-welcome-root to false and deployed my application with root context.

Now my Problem is to access the static contents available under welcome-content. How to access the contents of them since it is currently not accessible with the root context.

Have you tried moving the welcome-content folder to the deployment folder (if you have exploded deployments on), or just zip it to a war and do the same?

I can't change the welcome-content location because it is used as an repository where our application stores all the images and videos into that place.

So i tried putting the

I tried auto redirect from index.html(Which is under welcome-content) to my application, with meta tag.

So whenever i enter http://hostname:port it will call my application, even without change the enable-welcome-root = true.

But even this is also not works properly.

Using the welcome-content location as a repository? That sounds a bit hackish.

Why don't you just disable the welcome-content completely and just have a deployed war skeleton named repository.war where you keep the files? Or use some kind of WebDAV front?

You are probably looking for confiugraiton for static resources.

this are the configuration options

under web subsystem:

                                 read-only="${prop.read-only:true}"

i think you would need just

<static-resources listings="true" />

by default it is disabled

I am actually using the file system of the server for storing the files. If I zip to war then i cannot store the new image files in that war.

I was referring to an exploded war (directory named repository.war and deployment scanner set to auto-deploy exploded). Tomaz suggestion is probably better(?)
