1. Re: Accessing the static content in JBOSS AS 7.1.1 after assigning the root context to other web application
nickarls May 7, 2013 2:53 AM (in response to sivaranjanitg)Have you tried moving the welcome-content folder to the deployment folder (if you have exploded deployments on), or just zip it to a war and do the same?

sivaranjanitg May 7, 2013 3:34 AM (in response to nickarls)I can't change the welcome-content location because it is used as an repository where our application stores all the images and videos into that place.
So i tried putting the
I tried auto redirect from index.html(Which is under welcome-content) to my application, with meta tag.
So whenever i enter http://hostname:port it will call my application, even without change the enable-welcome-root = true.
But even this is also not works properly.
Please help me on this.

3. Re: Accessing the static content in JBOSS AS 7.1.1 after assigning the root context to other web application
nickarls May 7, 2013 5:41 AM (in response to sivaranjanitg)Using the welcome-content location as a repository? That sounds a bit hackish.
Why don't you just disable the welcome-content completely and just have a deployed war skeleton named repository.war where you keep the files? Or use some kind of WebDAV front?

4. Re: Accessing the static content in JBOSS AS 7.1.1 after assigning the root context to other web application
ctomc May 7, 2013 7:47 AM (in response to nickarls)You are probably looking for confiugraiton for static resources.
this are the configuration options
under web subsystem:
<configuration>
<static-resources listings="${prop.listings:true}"
sendfile="${prop.sendfile:1000}"
file-encoding="${prop.file-encoding:utf-8}"
read-only="${prop.read-only:true}"
webdav="${prop.webdav:false}"
secret="${prop.secret:secret}"
max-depth="${prop.max-depth:5}"
disabled="${prop.disabled:false}"
/>
i think you would need just
<static-resources listings="true" />
by default it is disabled

sivaranjanitg May 7, 2013 8:49 AM (in response to nickarls)Thanks for your continuous support nick.
I am actually using the file system of the server for storing the files. If I zip to war then i cannot store the new image files in that war.

6. Re: Accessing the static content in JBOSS AS 7.1.1 after assigning the root context to other web application
nickarls May 7, 2013 3:06 PM (in response to sivaranjanitg)I was referring to an exploded war (directory named repository.war and deployment scanner set to auto-deploy exploded). Tomaz suggestion is probably better(?)
