I think the -b should override standalone.xml but you could try the <any-address/> there, too.
When I try with -b option and ${jboss.bind.address:127.0.0.1} as inet-address [Default configuration] I get Invalid URL [Http status 404] error on accessing the URL with localhost...
Try the <any-address/>
Also, be careful with browser caches, it might show an old page from a previous failure. You might also want to try on a fresh download of an AS since you might have made other changes you forgot. You don't have any strange network config otherwise (Windows inside vmware/virtualbox)?
You are exactly right. I cleared the browser cache. It works fine now in my machine.
Here is what I did:
1. No change in standalone.xml.
2. Added -b 0.0.0.0 ^ in standalone.bat
3. Cleared browser cache
4. Accesssed index.html [from ROOT.war] with the URLs having localhost, hostname and IP address
Working now without any issues.
I'll now check in some other machines to confirm the above points...
