2. Re: Migration of MVCSoft Persistance to JBoss CMP
aroller Oct 21, 2002 12:23 PM (in response to aroller)We used MVCSoft for EJB 2.0 CMP on JBoss 2.x. Now JBoss 3.x provides EJB 2.0 CMP so we could, in theory, not use MVCSoft anymore. If anyone has already investigated the differences between using MVCSoft CMP vs. JBoss 3.x CMP we would appreciate any insight.

3. Re: Migration of MVCSoft Persistance to JBoss CMP
aroller Oct 21, 2002 12:31 PM (in response to aroller)MVCSoft's persistence was somewhat easy to use and I didn't find any/many bugs. JBoss 3.x CMP is somewhat new so there may be many bugs or performance issues. Other's that may have purchased MVCSoft's Persistence Manager probably investigated the differences already and have decided to use one of the other while upgrading to JBoss 3.x. I would be interested in those results before doing my own investigation and posting my results.
Essentially, if JBoss CMP is as good as MVCSoft then I might as well just go with JBoss and simplify my architecture. -
4. Re: Migration of MVCSoft Persistance to JBoss CMP
aroller Oct 30, 2002 11:49 PM (in response to aroller)I tested out JBoss 3.0 cmp briefly and I am quite sure it is better than MVC Soft. The constraint checking alone is much better. JBoss appears to have more configuration options for tweaking the system.
