Infinispan and mobile synchronisation

Hi all,

Need to build a mobile (Android) app with on/off-line capabilities where server data storage is in infinispan.

Interested to know what are people's opinion on the best approach to data synchronisation?

Is running Infinispan on Android (see https://github.com/jjankovi/infinispan.android.app) a viable solution given the handsets will be out on the Internet, or are there other more suitable technologies out there?

Hi,

I would run Infinispan on the server only, and expose it via REST to keep it simple for the Android client.

I agree that running Infinispan on a mobile does not 'feel right', but in that case can you recommend any solutions that would cater for seamless off-on line storage and synchronisation?

Hi Sean,

it could feel right to run a Hot Rod client, but other than a client to fetch the current data version, there is no support for "offline storage synchronization".
