Can you start and stops Jboss AS 6.0 directely through Java ?

Hi to start and stop JBoss, do you have to pass through .sh or .bat scripts ? Can you do it directly via Java ?

I think it is impossible.

As JBoss is written in Java it should be technical possible.
But it will be very complex and you will have several issues.
Also you need to start the Java program from a shell anyway, so I see no benefit but a lot of drawbacks.

What you might do is run in domain-mode (since AS7 or EAP6), in that case you can use the management API to configure/start/stop servers of this domain via a Java API.
