Configure Default Time-out For UserTransaction?

It appears that UserTransaction has a default time-out of 10 seconds in J-boss 7.1.1.Final. Is there any way to reconfigure the default without resorting to "setTransactionTimeout" from code?

I don't think 10 seconds is the default. How did you verify it?

The transaction timeout is configured in the Tx subsystem:

   <subsystem xmlns="urn:jboss:domain:transactions:1.1">

     <coordinator-environment default-timeout="300"/>

   </subsystem>

That mean 300 sec => 5min.

You can change the timeout here, but be aware that long running transactions might cause other problems (blocking resources etc.)

I found the "coordinator-environment default-timeout" was set to 10. Thanks.
