Is Hypersonic DB a production ready/usable database

We would like to develop an application to sell and run it on JBoss. We are running into issues with which DB to use since we don't plan on releasing the source.

Is the Hypersonic DB, which is included in JBoss, a production ready database? Can it be used to store data for a small company or is there a better option (postgre)?

I don't find it to be at the same level of reliability as PostgreSQL is. YMMV.

Thank you. I looked at postgresql but I didn't think that it ran on a Windows box (if requested).
