1. Re: Can't for the life of me figure out how to get Fuse IDE/Camel UI working
davsclaus Jul 16, 2014 10:25 AM (in response to robertrich)Hi
I hear you. I cannot easily find that myself. In the old days we had a single download that had all you needed, eg Fuse IDE. Today its JBoss Developer Studio + install extra plugins. So its a bit more complicated.
Your question was asked today on SO, and Lars Heinemen answered (Lars works on Fuse IDE daily)

lhein Jul 16, 2014 11:13 AM (in response to robertrich)1 of 1 people found this helpfulHi Bob,
Fuse IDE was renamed to JBoss Fuse Tooling. We are now part of the JBoss Tools Integration Stack. I covered that lately in my blog.
So basically you will need to follow the install instructions on the stack overflow page Claus linked. If you want to only go with Fuse Tooling and skip the rest of the Integration Stack you could
use a plain vanilla Eclipse and point it to our update site directly.
Nightly Update Site for Luna: http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/integration/luna/integration-stack/fuse-tooling/7.3.0/all/repo/
GA Update Site for Kepler: http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/integration/kepler/integration-stack/fuse-tooling/7.2.0/all/repo/
Hope that helps,
LarsBtw. we haven't tried our stuff in STS for a while. Can't say if it will work.

maxandersen Jul 17, 2014 8:10 PM (in response to lhein)once Fuse tooling is available for Luna we can add a "Camel Project" or similar link on central which will install the feature if not yet present.
that should help.

robertrich Jul 17, 2014 11:49 PM (in response to lhein)Hi Folks,
Thanks so much for the help! I came across more negative in my original post than I really should have...it's wonderful that I have the option to play around with this stuff.
I'll give this a try with vanilla Eclipse. For what it's worth I did try using the Fuse Tooling update site for Luna with the latest build of STS last night. Everything seemed to install OK but I couldn't find anything new to click on in the usual places.
Thanks again!
EDIT: YAY!
I grabbed a copy of Eclipse Kepler and installed Fuse Tooling via the GA Update Site for Kepler URL that Lars and others provided. After it was complete, I created a new Fuse Project. This had an error on the pom.xml and seemed to be missing some classes in the build path, so i tried right clicking on pom.xml and Run As -> Maven Build.
This seemed to do the trick. It's nice having all of the framework in the UI to fill out the components and better visualize the route. I'm using the Java DSL in my app, but translating it is pretty straightforward.
Thanks everyone!!!

lhein Jul 18, 2014 5:01 AM (in response to robertrich)Hey,
good to see it works now for you.
As I told you we did not test with STS. In past we always had problems running in STS. So this is probably the reason why your installation failed.
You could though download a vanilla Luna and try our Luna update site. It contains the latest features like improved deployment to servers like Karaf, ServiceMix, JBoss Fuse, Fabric8 and you can try out the new Camel Debugger too.
Though, its still a nightly snapshot and not a released version. It's up to you and your needs.
Looking forward to hear your feedback. Maybe say hello on FreeNode #fusetools if you are around
Lars
