Problem with Closed Connection after the database restart

Team,

My Application is running fine after some time  I could see that the Database server was down. Then I restarted Database server, But the database connection issue is still there. Do we need to restart the app server to rectify the issue?

JBOSS Version : 6.0.1

Database : Oracle
