what are the things we need to do to upgrade JBoss from one version of to another version of JBoss ?

I am working on Jboss upgrade .

I have to create a generic script that will upgrade Jboss from one version to another .

For that I need to know what are the things we need to take as backup.

Two sources that should help you along the way are JBoss EAP Migration and Installation documents.

Difficult to say if you don't share the versions.

In general there are some changes from major to major version which you can't transfer easily.

You might collect the settings from the old version or just remember all the settings you need.

In this case you can write a script to set this for the new version.

If you migrate to AS7 or later I recommend to use the CLI, you can script it, as this check your settings and give you informations if there is something wrong.
