1. Re: Trying to install ESB 3.4 on Windows 7
lasper Apr 6, 2010 9:17 AM (in response to lasper)Being unable to install ESB 3.4 I tried installing ESB 4.2 instead. That worked much better. I was able to fire it up, load the cxf-osgi example, and work through the payments-api video tutorial. It didn't go without a hitch though. I ran into the karaf user can't log in to WebConsole problem (http://fusesource.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1619) and the osgix:property-placeholder problem . Thanks to the folks who posted those questions and to those who answered them.

gertv Apr 6, 2010 9:52 AM (in response to lasper)L.S.,
I don't have a Windows 7 installation at hand to test this, but when I did install ServiceMix on Windows before, I usually just downloaded the ZIP archive from http://repo.fusesource.com/maven2/org/apache/servicemix/apache-servicemix/3.4.0.4-fuse/ and extracted that on the local hard drive of the Windows box.
Because it's so easy to install FUSE ESB this way, I don't even think the .exe installer still exists in the latest versions (like e.g. 4.2.0-fuse-01-00).
