examples-cxf-jaxrs does not appear to work in ESB 4.3.0-00-00

I've been looking at updating our system to 4.3.0 from 4.2.0, but have not been able to get our REST services to publish.  I do not see anything errors, but the HTTP port does appear to be active. 

After giving up trying to see what might be wrong, I took a fresh 4.3.0 installation and installed the examples-cxf-jaxrs feature.  It shows the same behavior--no apparent errors but http://localhost:8181/cxf does not connect.

I repeated this with 4.2.0 and get the expected page showing the available SOAP services.

Does the example need to be updated, is there a step that I'm missing or is there a bug in 4.3.0?

An update:

I have gotten the example to work although servicemix hung during the feature install.  I had to kill it, restart servicemix and then start each bundle deployed as part of the feature manually.

The problem I was having before also appeared to be a problem with the deployments of CXF's prerequisites.
