Set expiration time in a Task

Hi,

I am a member of the Jboss Overlord Design Time Governance team. We are using in our project the jbpm and kie task api . We would like to add the possibility in our project of setting the tasks expiration time. In a quick view to the methods included in the TaskService interface I can see that it is not possible. Also the org.kie.api.task.model.TaskData class contain the getExpirationTime but not the set method.

Is there any possibility for setting the expiration time in a Task already started in jbpm?

the expiration time is not really used and is more of a metadata value so it can be used for queries, etc. Depending on what you want to achieve you might want to use timer boundary event to cancel user task and move alternative flow after given amount of time.
