Why are critical issues in 6.x branch only fixed in 7.x?

    We're using Infinispan 6.0.2. We're facing those issues: [ISPN-3846], [ISPN-3868].

Why are those issues fixed in 7.x (Beta) branch but not in 6.x (stable) branch? I can understand no new features for 6.x, but such critical issues? We can't even adopt 7.x when it's released, because it requires JDK7.

You are right, 6.x branch deserved more maintenance. Because of the feature pressure and limited resourcing we decided to freeze the 6.x branch and deliver  7 as soon as possible, with a proper maintenance lifecycle. Unfortunately this means some pain, but we hope that once 7 is out this will pay off.

In your case, there's also the option to use a supported version built on top of 6.x branch, which has all the critical issues back-ported: http://www.jboss.org/products/datagrid/overview/
