I am trying to design the process diagram with user task andae gateways. The problem, i am facing with gateways. As soon as i am adding the gateway, i am getting the error "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown gateway direction: unspecified".

web designer attempts to figure out the gateway directions based on the sequence flow of it. That means for diverging there must be on incoming and multiple outgoing. For converging there must be multiple incoming and one outgoing. If you follow these rules you'll be good with design.
