Hi,

I am using JBDS Version: 8.1.0.GA, JBoss EAP 6.0 for teiid using JDBC connection. I am connecting to MySQL Server.

while i try to execute VDB as a last step,I get

Processing exception 'TEIID50072 The username "user" and/or password and/or payload token could not be authenticated by any membership domain.' for session null.  Exception type org.teiid.client.security.LogonException thrown from org.teiid.jboss.JBossSessionService.authenticate(JBossSessionService.java:74). Enable more detailed logging to see the entire stacktrace.

Can this be sorted?

I updated the C:\DV-6.1.0\jboss-eap-6.3\standalone\configuration\application-users.properties and C:\DV-6.1.0\jboss-eap-6.3\standalone\configuration\application-roles.properties, then i circumvented the teiid connection issues.

I deployed the VDB and tried to select the values, it was OK. But, I tried to insert, obviously it is not possible to insert the values into the view. Because the VDB had only view models.

insert into PreFinalVDB.PreFinalViewModel.test.insert_test values (1,'kumar',98863)

org.teiid.runtime.client.TeiidClientException: org.teiid.api.exception.query.QueryValidatorException: Remote TEIID30492 Metadata does not allow updates on the group: PreFinalViewModel.test.insert_test

Now, My query is, how do I make it to insert the data into the physical table using the VDB. Should I add the source model , while I create the VDB and try? (i have added only the view models into the VDB earlier.

Kiran,

View can be updatable in Teiid unlike in other databases, granted the underlying sources support the update too. You need to set "updatable" property to "true" on your view. Depending upon complexity of the transformation, you may have to also define the insert/update/delete transformation tabs. Look "INSTEAD OF TRIGGERS" in the documentation to write these transformations. Once that is ready, you can issue INSERT/UPDATE and DELETE calls on View.

I did this and recreated the new VDB (Included with both source and view models) and started executing this VDB. It is able to retrieve the values, but not insert.

If you look in the properties panel, the table info for "Update" is set to false.   That needs to be changed to "true" to enable updates to the table.

I took that image before saving. But when I see it now, it is saved and it is updated to 'updateable'.

Still the same error. Is there anything else I should take care, please.

On the server side, i get this exception

org.eclipse.datatools.sqltools.parsers.sql.SQLParserException isn't a server side exception.   Can you paste the full stack trace?

I edited the transformation and amended the supports update check box and redeployed the VDB...and got the result what I wanted...

Now, can you help me on the other issue, I am on JBOSS EAP 6.3. and I am not able to login the console...I will comment in that thread too
