3. Re: What java method to write/use to track errors in jboss 7 serve.log
jamezp Jun 24, 2015 6:30 PM (in response to explorepar)It just depends on the format the log is written in. By default it's just a standard unformatted text file so you'd have to parse it out which doesn't always work well. You're best option would be to use a custom-formatter, but that wasn't introduced until EAP 6.3. Other than that you have to make an attempt to parse text.
One thing to make it slightly better would be to use some kind of delimiters for beginning/end of a log message. You could change the formatter on the handler to a format which adds maybe a character character string around exceptions. It's less than a perfect approach though.

explorepar Jun 24, 2015 7:45 PM (in response to jamezp)Thanks James. Appreciate your suggestion. I will wait for a day or two to see if there are any other inputs. Before I inform the development team on the option you have mentioned.

wdfink Jun 25, 2015 2:27 PM (in response to explorepar)You might add an additional appender to have only ERROR or FATAL messages.
Also you can use a mail-appender to send out e-mails.
Or create your own appender to customize the behaviour
