JBoss Fuse - Disaster Recovery Options

    jawhite

      Hi,

I wondered if anyone can provide insight for best practices around DR options when it comes to Fuse running (or at least having the stand-by capability) across two physical Datacentres. I am fairly new to it myself and currently thinking of the current high-level options:

      Active/Active Datacentres:

      1. Both sites Servers systems will be active and processing messages.

      2. The DB on one site will be replicated from the "primary" and set to read-only.

      3. Servers on the site with the read-only DB, will point across a low latency link to the read/write DB.

      4. In the Event of the primary site failing, the read-only DB will be changed to RW and a DNS redirect will point systems to this DB.

      Active/Passive:

      1. One sites Servers are active, the second site will having running Servers but disabled services.

      2. The DB on one site will be replicated from the primary and set to read-only.

      3. Servers on the secondary site with the services disabled will point to the read-only DB.

      4. In the Event of the primary site failing, the read-only DB will be changed to RW, and disabled services started.

So, from the above I obviouly have lots of questions around, Server count, appropriate processes required for Fuse....

      Many thanks

      J
