Can we create remote cache from hotrod client from version 8.2 onward?

Can we create remote cache from hotrod client? Somebody told me that it will be available from version 8.2 onward using JCache API.

So, is it there? can I create cache from remote hotrod client? If yes, it would be nice if updated reference can be given..

Do I need additional jars for that?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: we do not plan to add administrative functionality to the Hot Rod protocol itself, but it is possible to use the server management protocol to do so. Our Remote JCache module implements the bare minimum to create a simple local cache (i.e. unclustered), but it is not a robust solution.
