JBoss and jdk 1.1 clients?

Does anyone know if there is any way to have jdk 1.1 (1.1.8 in my case) clients with JBoss or is jdk 1.3 also required in the client layer?

Often the reason for this is that it does not support dynamic class loading, and also that the stubs contains
classes from the collections api, isn't it.
If so could't I get the stubs in a jar-file and include it in the classpath in addition to use the Collections api for jdk1.1? Or is there other things involed to?

you'd need the complete implementation of the proxy that is created at runtime which is more than just the rmic stub
