NPE in GPD with Eclipse 3.1.1, jBPM 3.1 Beta2/3

Hi, I have just done a clean install of Eclipse 3.1.1, over Java 1.4.2_08, and installed the jBPM 3.1 Beta 3 starters kit. After I installed the GPD into Eclipse I began getting the following:

A few seconds after starting Eclipse, I get an error message 'An internal error occurred during: "Initializing Java tooling".', with the following call stack:

      java.lang.NullPointerException

I then tried fresh installs with the jBPM3.1Beta2 starters kit, and got the same error.

I have now also tried fresh installs with the jBPM3.0.2 starters kit, and it works properly. What is wrong with the 3.1 beta installs?
