jbpm execution is multithreaded or single thread?

Please anyone could clarify my questions?.

I would like to know that jbpm execution is multi threaded or single thread? Each instance of workflow is executed by a thread?. For example, 10 instance of workflow creates 10 threads?.

Depends what you mean by an instance? If an instance is not doing anything, it is just a database record and doing nothing. Multiple requests comming in from e.g. a webapp will have their own thread until a node is reached that is persistent e.g. a task or state.
