I tested this further. I was also not able to 'Deploy Process Archive" the websale example. However I was able to 'Save Without Deploying' as well as 'Deploy Process Archive" the simple example.
So perhaps there is an issue with the websale example??? -

It's hard to believe no one else has run into this if it's a "always-fails" bug. So it's probably not. I think you'll probably have to provide more info to get anyone to look at it.
A stack trace would probably help!

It seems to deploy ok if I uncheck src/main/images, and only have src/main/jpdl, src/main/java, and src/main/css checked in the Java Classes and Resources.
In this example the images directory does not really have anything interesting in it that I can tell, ... -

Jeff, is it the console that is giving the exception, or the designer? Can you provide a stacktrace in any case?

It is the designer that gives the exception and there is no stacktrace.
It effects both Save Without Deploying and Deploy Process Archive, so I don't think it is related to the console. It appears to be related to the files in the images directory, but I don't know why that would cause an issue.
