    Roadmap: jBPM integration.

    Roy Russo Master

There is already a related issue to workflow integration in the CMS: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBPORTAL-372

I have been looking at jBPM integration over the holidays. Our sample use-cases for this are as follows:

      Workflow for supervisor approval process
Workflow for custom pages. Example: Form pages that require some logic on how to handle the submitted input

(The first use-case, above, is what I envision for 2.4.)

A well integrated jBPM can be used throughout the portal and SHOULD NOT BE CONFINED TO CMS USE. This would allow portlet developers to leverage jBPM in portlets they develop in JBoss Portal.

So far, I have spoken briefly to Tom Baeynes about DB support. There will have to be some Hibernate support built in much like what we did for jackrabbit.

          Hi,

I started working on the above and was able to develop a jbpm portlet that accessed the user and role information from the portal data store.
I have written an expression specific to the portal user modes and an assignment handler that replaced the existing jbpm identity assignment process. The assignment uses existing portal session to fetch the user data. I think this satisfies what you mentioned as requirments for jbpm integration.

I am currently working on coverting the jbpm websale webapp to a portlet as a demo portlet application. But I think your use case should be simple to implement.

          Any comments are welcome.

              Hello,

what is the status of the "assignment uses existing portal session to fetch the user data" ?

Can i get the source code ?

              thanks
