JBoss Portal Server Enterprise version 4.3 installation

Hi

I need to install JBoss Portal Server Enterprise version 4.3. Can anyone please suggest if it is possible to have the JBoss Application server (on which the portal server will run), on a separate machine rather than the one on which portal server is installed? Is it mandatory to install both the portal server and the portal server's application server, to be on the same machine?

Enterprise Portal Platform embeds the Application server, so it's self-sufficient and portal depends on the AS and can't be decoupled.
