this is indeed a bug: https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBMESSAGING-1694. -1 should be a valid value but it is not accepted in 2.0.0.Beta3 (and Beta4). This is fixed in the trunk, sorry for the inconvenience.
As a workaround, you can try to pass the Long.MAX_VALUE which in effect will means an "infinite" timeout. -
