norman.richards Dec 28, 2006 7:52 PM (in response to liudan2005)Is it just the cid or does it only happen when clr=true?

2. Re: bookmarkable page with cid problem
liudan2005 Dec 29, 2006 7:16 AM (in response to liudan2005)yes, I just noticed it's actually caused by clr=true. what does clr mean? Is there anyway to solve this problem?
Here is how mu url looks like:
http://testmachine:8080/myweb/home.meal?city=1&actionMethod=home.xhtml%3AmyBean.myMethod&cid=3&clr=true&conversationPropagation=join -
3. Re: bookmarkable page with cid problem
norman.richards Dec 29, 2006 3:57 PM (in response to liudan2005)Are you trying to bookmark the ACTION or the resulting view? Doing the former doesn't make that much sense in seam, though it isn't hard to accomplish the equivalent. If it is the later, why not redirect to the view afterwards so that you have a much simpler problem to solve? It's hard to give general advice not knowing exactly what you are trying to do.

4. Re: bookmarkable page with cid problem
liudan2005 Dec 29, 2006 4:44 PM (in response to liudan2005)Thanks for your help. It is a result view.
Here is what I'm trying to do. I have 3 pages: search->choose from result-> detailed info. I used s:link in the 2nd page. the detailed info page needs to be bookmarkable. The back bean has a search method and showResult method. both action methos are annotated with @Begin(join=true).
When user comes from the bookmarked url, my detailed info page only shows some basic information. If user comes from search page, my detailed info page would show more information related to user's search conditions. That's why I need both search and showResult methos annotated with @Begin(join=true).
I don't understand the redirect solution you've mentioned. Can you please explain it a bit more? Thanks. -
5. Re: bookmarkable page with cid problem
norman.richards Dec 31, 2006 10:28 AM (in response to liudan2005)I don't know how to escape those messages. Maybe we ought to have a way. To get out of the redirect, remove the no-conversation-view-id in your components.xml.

6. Re: bookmarkable page with cid problem
liudan2005 Jan 3, 2007 4:17 PM (in response to liudan2005)removing no-conversation-view-id from components.xml seems not the right way to do it. There are cases users do need to be redirected when conversation doesn't exist.
I think the correct behaviour should to create a new conversation when @Being annotated method is invoked and cid's value can't be found. Should I raise it as a bug in JIRA? -

norman.richards Jan 3, 2007 5:10 PM (in response to liudan2005)It is a property you can set on a page-by-page basis.

8. Re: bookmarkable page with cid problem
liudan2005 Jan 4, 2007 5:20 AM (in response to liudan2005)I've tried doing it for my page, but it still doesn't solve my original problem: It doesn't create a new conversation! All I need is to ask Seam to create a new conversation when @Being annotated method is invoked and cid's value can't be found. This problem drives me crazy now. I might have to change the whole design if Seam doesn't support this feature.

10. Re: bookmarkable page with cid problem
liudan2005 Jan 8, 2007 4:49 AM (in response to liudan2005)Thanks Gavin. This seems not work for me. Looking at your url, I've noticed it deosn't have "clr=true". why does my url have clr=true? What does clr do? Is there anyway to get ride of it?
