Eclipse plugin?

There are some plugin for eclipse ganymade to create portlets?. Are the portlets to deploy on gatein std portlets?

Yes GateIn supports the standard portlets JSR-168 and JSR-286.

JBoss Tools has a plugin to help you create the portlet.xml descriptor which is just the necessary file to be added to a regular webapp. (It's also easy to create without any tool, check the example here:
