Eduardo, welcome to the forums
Hi all, I am looking for info about how to upgrade my current Jboss (4.0.0) to the new one release (6.0.0), but I have not found it yet. Please, if you know where I can find this info I will be gratefull.
There's no step by step process to upgrade to a new AS version.
I need to upgrade my Jboss, but I don't know if I need to install the new one from scratch or if exists a pack o fixed to upgrade the current one;
Usually, you download the new AS, deploy your application in it and then if it runs into any issues, start looking into each one of them one by one.
and if there are any incompatibility or risks to lose the current settings and content.
Since you are not going to overwrite any of your existing settings in AS 4.x, you don't run the risk of losing existing content. If you have some custom config files or if you have changes to some JBoss specific files, then you will have to figure out how those config changes have to be done in AS-6.x. If there isn't much change around those configs between versions, then you can continue using those.
And if you run into any issues, feel free to open a new thread with the specific issue details. I'm sure you will find some help here.
By the way, AS 6.0.0.M2 has been released yesterday http://lists.jboss.org/pipermail/jboss-development/2010-February/015855.html , so if you are planning to upgrade to AS-6, then this is your best option.
Eduardo, I'm doing the exactly the same upgrade, could you share valuable experience?
