How could I execute an action before the action of the a4j:commandLink?

1. execute firstAction
2. reRender something1
3. execute lastAction
4. reRender something2 ?

Since this would happen in one click, why don't you wanna do it in 1 function and 1 rerender? All the intermediate operations can be done in the backing bean.

Anyways, try adding a4j:support for commandLink's onclick event and set rerender and action there as well. If it works a4j:support will be executed first.
