and by using h:commandLink or something like that, and get the document as an attachment of response is petty fine in convensional way..
but in some case if the page is totally based on ajax request , there i can't submit the whole page..some times its really required to do excel export by ajax request itself...not by submitting the grid page...so in this kind of situation we need a ajax based export feature
We not planning to implement such export just because many ways already available. If you not using seam - you could export data yourself for example by using apache POI. And in any way - you should not use Ajax in order to download generated file.
