1. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
timfox Sep 21, 2009 4:34 PM (in response to hiskill3)Not sure what you mean by the "Topic" status. Can you explain more?

2. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
hiskill3 Sep 21, 2009 4:46 PM (in response to hiskill3)Sorry I should've been more specific, I want to check the stutuses of the JMS Topics

3. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
timfox Sep 22, 2009 5:34 AM (in response to hiskill3)I still don't understand what you mean by "check the stutuses (sic) of the JMS Topics"
BTW, you are posting on the wrong forum.
This is the developer forum. You should be posting on the user forum.
I will move this thread. -
4. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
hiskill3 Sep 22, 2009 10:42 AM (in response to hiskill3)Sorry for posting at the wrong forum.
Say I configured a topic like this:<topic name="events"> <entry name="/topic/eventmanager"/> </topic>
I would like to see the messages sent/recieved for the topic "events" for tracking purposes.
I am running a standalone version. -
5. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
hiskill3 Sep 22, 2009 10:55 AM (in response to hiskill3)Tags got cut off in earlier reply.
In hornetq-jms.xml I have the topic name="events" defined. -
6. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
clebert.suconic Sep 22, 2009 11:12 AM (in response to hiskill3)I post-eddited your post, adidng the code tags, so they appear correctly now.
Have you looked at Browser?
Or.. have you looked at the management operations available? -
7. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
hiskill3 Sep 22, 2009 12:19 PM (in response to hiskill3)I don't know how to look for manager operations. Where do I look for that?

Try reading the user manual? ;) -
9. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
hiskill3 Sep 22, 2009 12:53 PM (in response to hiskill3)I did look at management.html but I didn't wanted to write the code to track the messages. Do we have any built in to track that info?
-
10. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
timfox Sep 22, 2009 1:17 PM (in response to hiskill3)Track what info?
You haven't explained what information it is that you want. Just saying "topic stuff" does not help.
Your requests are so vaguely worded it's almost impossible to work out what you are after.
So, sit back, take a deep breath, think about what it is you want to know, then formulate a question which asks in as much detail as possible what it is you want, then hopefully someone can help you.
But right now, no-one is going to be able to help you since no-one will have a clue what you are talking about. -
11. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
hiskill3 Sep 22, 2009 1:37 PM (in response to hiskill3)Ok I will re-frame my question.
I have a JMS topic "events" configured, I was looking if there is a easy way to see how many messages are sent by publishers and recieved by subscribers, any failures as such. -
12. Re: How to check the 'Topic' status?
timfox Sep 22, 2009 1:42 PM (in response to hiskill3)Like Clebert said, take a look at the management interface.
You don't need to write code to use the management interface. You can view the JMX console using Jconsole (for example).
This is all explained in the user manual. -

Also have a look at message counters.
If you can't find all you would like in the management interface, we can consider adding it.
