Upgrading HornetQ 2.2.x on Jboss 7.1.1

I need to upgrade HornetQ on JBoss 7.1.1 to a version 2.2.19 or better.

Basically I have the problem described at https://issues.jboss.org/browse/HORNETQ-952, in every installation of my application.

Is viable to do this upgrade? Are any considerations of dependencies that need to be upgraded at the same time

HornetQ is fairly tightly coupled with the messaging subsystem in JBossAS/WildFly. I'm not sure it would work to upgrade HornetQ in JBoss AS 7.1.1 to 2.2.19, but you can try.

Personally, I would recommend you just upgrade the application server itself. For example, pull down https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly/tree/7.1.3.Final and build it.

You could also:
Fork HornetQ 2.2.13.Final (i.e. the version shipped in AS 7.1.1) and apply the fix for HORNETQ-952.
Not bind your application servers to 0.0.0.0.
