you have to use NIO on Solaris.
libaio on Linux has a kernel extension. In Solaris the Posix AIO is a user level implementation that is doing the same thing we do on our java layer. For that reason we don't have a porting of the library on Solaris.. only on linux.
we have only implemented the linux libaio.
